Laser therapy in Siena
Hair removal, pigmentation, tattoos and rejuvenation: the lasers at the Siena clinic.
In Siena laser therapy has a dedicated specialist, and that is not an organisational detail: laser parameters are chosen according to the patient's phototype and the target, and the same indication requires different settings from person to person. It is the part that determines both safety and result.
The clinic has different devices because the targets differ: the pigment of a tattoo, the melanin of a hair, a sun spot and post-inflammatory discolouration are not treated with the same instrument. Some of the technologies are present only here.
Every course begins with an assessment, never with a session. There are contraindications that depend on timing — a current tan above all — and situations in which laser is not the right tool: saying so beforehand is part of the job.

Frequently asked questions
Can I have laser treatment if I am tanned?
No, and it is not a formality. Several lasers have melanin as their target: on tanned skin the energy is absorbed diffusely rather than at the chosen target, with a risk of unwanted reactions and pigmentary outcomes. Courses are therefore typically scheduled in months of lower exposure, and a session is postponed without argument if a tan is still present.
How many sessions are needed?
It depends on the treatment and on individual response, and anyone promising a precise number before seeing the skin is promising what they cannot know. The first session is also informative: it is by observing how the skin responds that the rest of the course is planned.
Does laser work on all hair?
No. Laser hair removal works on the pigment in the hair, so it is more effective the darker and thicker the hair: on white, very light blond or red hair the target is missing and the result is poor. It is one reason assessment comes before any quotation.
