Melanoma Prevention
Mole mapping
Monitoring over time for early diagnosis.
Mole mapping documents and monitors the patient's moles over time, allowing early detection of any suspicious changes through dermoscopy.
It is particularly indicated for those with many moles, a family history of melanoma or changing lesions.

How the treatment works
Mapping documents moles with images acquired in a standardised way, so they can be compared precisely at subsequent check-ups. It is comparison over time, more than any single observation, that makes early recognition of changes possible.
During the session the physician examines the skin surface, acquires panoramic and dermatoscopic images of the lesions to be monitored, and establishes when to repeat the check.

FAQ
How often should it be repeated?+
The interval depends on the number and type of moles, family history of melanoma and phototype. The physician establishes it at the end of the first mapping.
How should I prepare?+
Come without make-up and without nail polish, and avoid applying creams before the session. Point out to the physician any moles that seem to have changed.
