Mole check
Dermatological assessment of moles.
The mole check is a dermatological assessment dedicated to moles, to identify suspicious lesions and decide whether to proceed with monitoring or removal.
A periodic check is the most effective way to detect a melanoma early, while it is still small and the outlook is excellent.

How the treatment works
The check consists of examining the skin and dermatoscopic assessment of moles, with attention to lesions reported by the patient and those with features warranting closer study.
When previous mapping exists, images are compared to identify changes in shape, colour or size. At the end the physician indicates whether and when to repeat the check.

FAQ
When should I have a mole checked?+
When you notice changes in shape, colour or size, irregular borders, itching or bleeding, or a mole that looks different from the others. When in doubt, it is always better to have it assessed.
How does it differ from mapping?+
The check is the clinical assessment of moles at a given time. Mapping adds archived photographic documentation, which makes precise comparison over time possible.
